    Jerry Lee Barnard, 64, of Tyrone, NY passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Robert Packer Hospital.

    Jerry was born October 31, 1958 in Penn Yan, NY the son of Morris Barnard and Leafy Stevenson.  

    Jerry was a 1977 graduate of Bradford Central School.  He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 8/23/1977 to 2/6/1983. 

    Jerry worked for the Tyrone Highway Department for 36 years.  

    On a warm sunny day in 2014, Jerry met the love of his life at the point on Lamoka Lake. They spent 10 wonderful years together.

    Jerry especially loved spending time at his tiki hut at the point. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, riding four wheelers, and puttering around his property to always keep it just so. He was a private man who had amazing creativity and artistic talents that most people were unaware of, but those who were privileged enough to know were always impressed. Jerry always made time for family, and was a great role model for everyone around him.

    J. Laurens Barnard (also known as Jerry Laurens Barnard; February 27, 1928 – August 16, 1991) was an American zoologist, taxonomist, and carcinologist. He was noted for his contributions to amphipod taxonomy.

    Barnard was born in Pasadena, California on February 27, 1928. In childhood, Barnard showed great curiosity for nature and affection of the environment.[1] When he was twelve, Barnard was inspired to become a scientist after watching a movie made by the Allan Hancock Foun
